KIDP and The Hope Institute will support design development for small businessmen.

희망제작소 부설 소기업발전소는 8일 서울 프레스센터 지역홍보센터에서 `제1차 희망소기업 지원 사업` 대상자로 선정된 20개 소기업과 지원 협약식을 갖고 본격적인 경영지원을 약속했다.소기업발전소는 이들 업체가 매출을 올리고 사업 역량을 강화할 수 있도록 판로 개척, 디자인 개발, 홍보 및 재무관리 부문에서 사회적으로 인정받은 중견기업과 전문가의 도움을 제공할 예정이다.이날 협약식에는 인터넷 쇼핑몰 인터파크와 한국디자인진흥원도 동참해 소기업들에 대한 쇼핑몰 입점 및 판촉 교육, 디자인 개선작업 등에 대한 지원을 약속했다.희망제작소 박원순 상임이사는 "앞으로 기업들의 전문성 기부를 촉진하는 한편 대안적 가치를 지닌 기업들을 더 많이 찾아내 지원 하겠다"며 "고기를 잡아주는 것이 아닌 고기를 낚는 법을 가르쳐주는 첫 신호탄이 될 것"이라고 말했다. 공익적 목적을 추구하는 지역 소기업과 사회적 기업, 대안 기업을 육성하기 위해 설립된 소기업발전소는 지난 4일 농산물 가공업체, 토종 특산품 개발업체, 인문사회과학 전문 서점 `그날이 오면' 등 20개 업체를 1차 지원대상으로 선정했다

He explains the stragegies of successful international design promotion with 11 key words.

I think it has been described elegantly.

1. Concept : Think simple but clear
Try to show what you are designing with simple and clear ways.

As well, design should be considered as a process of production.

2. Image : Design your mind
Your design should contain your idea, philosophy and image.

3. Korean? : Don't be too much Korean
Korean and Traditional do not go together all the time.

Think about the identity that we have now.

4. Perfection : See inside from Outside
If it is not perfect, do not show it.

5. Material : Think about Skin

Korean designers are likely to focus on the shape not the materials.

Find the new materials and apply them to your design. You will find something quite new.

6. Language : Speak your mind
Cannot have any business without proper communication.

7. Unique : Be yourself not else
Do not copy any others. Make your own design with uniqueness.

8. Passion : Be maniac to your life

If you do not have passion, ask yourself whether you are a designer

9. Party : Enjoy your business
Party is a great chance to develop your business.

10. World : Show to the world

Your stage is not Korean peninsula. It's the earth.

11. People : Always think about people

Design for human, not for design itself.

Design Management Conference...well done

It was a great conference with full of passion toward design management.
I would like to thank to Thomas, Alison, Jaibeom and all the speakers from all over the world.
Definitely, I will continue to work on it.

Sharing Design (Beautiful Fund & KIDP)

Beautiful Fund (http://www.beautifulfund.org)/ and Korea Institute of Design Promotion(http://www.kidp.or.kr/) began "Sharing Design Project".

"Sharing Design Project" is a way that designers donate their design for the poor organizations.

디자인진흥원-아름다운재단 "디자인을 기부합니다"
한국디자인진흥원(원장 이일규)은 아름다운재단(이사장 박상증)과 함께 공익단체들의 대표 이미지(CI) 등을 무료로 제작해 주기로 했다고 19일 밝혔다.디자인진흥원이 모집한 29명의 디자이너들이 아름다운재단에서 추천한 한국근육장애인협회 등 29개 공익단체들의 CI와 홍보물 모금함 등을 디자인 해주는 방식이다.디자이너로는 박금준 601비상 대표와 박봉래 한양여대 교수 등이 나선다.이일규 디자인진흥원장은 "디자인 나눔 사업을 통해 재정이 열악한 공익단체들이 이미지를 개선하고 활발하게 활동을 벌일 수 있을 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다.
