Korean Desiger in NY #1_Taeeun Yoo_Illustrator

Taeeun Yoo is a New York based illustrator.
It is a fortune for me to meet her and learn about her great works.
As I have a 4 year old boy, I recognized how children books are important to children of their imagination and emotion.
While I was talking to her, I found her soul is as pure as child and it enables her to illustrate such an impressive works.

Taeeun received her MFA from the School of Visual Arts Illustration as Visual Essay program. Her clients include Dial Books for Young Readers, Greenwillow Books, Simon & Schuster, Square Fish Feiwel&Friends,Cricket Magazine, Spider Magazine, Ladybug Magazine.

One of her book was selected as Best Illustrated Book in 2009 by New York Times.

Leaders in Desing field in Korea

Every year, KIDP(http://www.kidp.or.kr/) and KFDA(http://www.kfda.or.kr/) host the annual meeting with design leaders and designers at Korea Design Center.

As other societies, the leaders' roles are so crucial to make its advancement.

Good news is that Korea Government will extend its investment for supporing design industry by 2012 up to 100 billion dollars. I feel like I have a lot of great projects expected when I go back to Korea. Yes, design is the one that can lead the change.

DMI-KIDP signed for MOU

I am so glad that my company(Korea Institute of Design Promotion) and DMI have signed for MOU recently. I worked for the 1st International Design Management Conference with DMI in 2007 and it motivabed me to begin my study at Pratt Institute.
As a governmental organizaton, KIDP will demonstrate how "Design Management" can lead a country to growth and prosperity in various areas.
